summary / notes

today was a non-training day, but I thought I’d take the chance to talk about food a little more. as mentioned elsewhere, I’ve been interested in low-carb eating since reading about “primal” eating in relation to distance running / endurance sport.

in addition, over the last couple of years, I have fallen into some really bad habits again, and anything that brings me back to eating real food (and avoiding fast food) can only be a good thing.

finally, I have also had some gut issues in the last couple of years; bloating, stomach upsets, mild pain, discomfort etc. these all disappeared when I gave low-carb eating a go last year. ultimately if it works for me, it works for me. if it doesn’t work then I’ll try something else 🙂

I get most of my recipes from a website called “diet doctor”, and I have to say, it’s a real joy to eat food with flavour again.

the photos below are just an example of the sort of food I am talking about; the chicken BLT salad is really tasty, and the dessert? who knew that a can of coconut milk, a pack of dark choc chips, some heat and then some refrigeration, could taste so divine?!
