i did my first intervals workout this morning and I fucking loved it. in a strange, sado-masochistic kind of way.
4 x 400m
run 400m at a “fast” pace
walk back the same 400m
do it all again, another 3 times
it took about half an hour all up, with a 10 minute jog around the block to warm up first.
during the fast intervals my lungs screamed, I found sections of lung that hadn’t been open for business for years.
by the end I was pouring sweat.
and the most brilliant feeling of all was I felt like an athlete. I had got up at 3am and had just done a proper training exercise.
