Looks like the final weeks of training are determined to contribute to ultra-maranoia… this week (week 29) started with a missed training session yesterday. Fortunately it was “only” a 4km run, so not a huge loss in terms of kms, but the reason for it was aches, pains and a slight temperature…
The good news is that I had a resonable night’s sleep, woke at 3:30am, and was out for a 15km long run by 4:30… it was a great run, went really well and despite a few hiccups and wobbles in the last couple of weeks, I’m happy that over the last 28+ weeks, I have done the work necessary to prepare my body physically for the challenge ahead…

So the final 7 days of big kms begins... can't believe I'm only a week away from starting the taper towards race day. Will have spent 60% of 2016 working towards that day in January... after an unscheduled break yesterday (aches, pains and a bit of a temperature) this morning's run was the perfect antidote; felt good, great conditions, early start and at a pace slightly above that intended for ADU.
